April and May - Display by Nancy Vath in the Library
Born in Maine at the close of WWII to an American soldier and her German mother, Nancy spent most of her life living between Los Angeles and southern Germany. While in Europe the family would travel in and out of nearby countries visiting the Bavarian Region’s spectacular castles, historic and modern architecture and eclectic museums. The family also lived in Mexico for a time. While in southern California, along with her younger sister, she would explore the diverse landscape and beach culture of the southland on the trollies and other public transit that existed throughout downtown and the coast.
Nancy Vath maintains a passion for travel, cultural diversity, all of the arts and any event that involves a beach. The artwork presently displayed offers a glimpse into those interests over the years. Viewers can enjoy her expressive representation of people, places and things in unique ways of rendering. As diverse as her upbringing and life experiences are, so is her thirst to explore a variety of media in her artwork. You will see decoupage, assemblage, collage, photomontage and an array of variations of experimental and traditional media and applications.

July and August, 2016 Display by Toni P. Haigh
Toni's love of art, horses and dogs, (especially Jack Russell Terriers) came naturally from her great uncle, the British sporting artist, Alfred G. Haigh. She was also fortunate to grow up on a ranch, riding with cowboys and showing horses of different breeds and disciplines. Her paintings have won many awards: magazine covers, commissions from the City of Los Angeles and Del Mar Racetrack. Her work has touched the lives of people who love their animals and brought new friends.
